Submitting your book is straightforward and efficient.
You may submit more than one book, and each book may be entered in up to five categories. Every category you enter gives your book another chance to be recognized. A submission fee applies to each category entered, and all payments are non-refundable.

Judging Process
Every book is reviewed on its own merit.
Every book submitted for Author of the Year 2027 is reviewed through our Literary Metric Assessment System (LMAS).
How Books Are Evaluated
Every book is read in full by the Literary Metric Assessment System, our proprietary evaluation system, and assessed against the ten pillars of the IIBA Standard of Excellence in each category it is submitted to. Books that reach the finalist threshold are named finalists in their respective categories.
From that group, the Author of the Year in each category is determined by our review team. Finalists are announced on April 30, 2027 and invited to the Hollywood Grand Gala, where the winners are revealed live on stage.

Everything you need to know before you submit.
Authors from around the world are invited to submit for Author of the Year 2027. Eligible books must have been published in 2020 or later and may be traditionally published or self-published. Authors must be 18 years of age or older, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian if under 18.
You may enter each book in up to five categories. Every category you enter is another chance to be recognized as a finalist or winner. A separate fee applies to each category.
One category is $79 early (through October 10, 2026) or $97 after. Each additional category is $59 early or $77 after — the same fee for your second, third, fourth and fifth. You may enter all five categories for $299 early or $379 after, our best value.
Yes. You may submit multiple books, and each book may be entered in up to five categories. A separate submission form must be completed for each book you enter. Entry fees apply based on the number of categories selected for each submission.
You may add any of the following as you submit:
- Impact Assessment Summary ($39): a written evaluation of your book, delivered after judging.
- Visibility Boost ($149): a done-for-you feature of your book in Eyes on Hollywood magazine. Fulfilled by our sister company, World Experts PR (WePR).
Reports are delivered after judging, in early May 2027.

No. They are separate programs with separate submissions, and you can enter Author of the Year without having entered the International Impact Book Awards.
Both begin with your book, and both are assessed against the same IIBA Standard of Excellence. The difference is what happens next.
The International Impact Book Awards runs year-round and is not a competition. Your book is measured against the standard and nothing else. Every book that meets it receives the award in its category and their authors become Distinguished Authors, celebrated at The Impact Honors & Gala Weekend in Phoenix.
Author of the Year is a competition. Books are measured against the same standard, then the strongest are named finalists and considered against one another within their category. One Author of the Year is selected per category and announced live at the Hollywood Grand Gala.
Yes. Anyone can attend.
The awards ceremony is one part of the day, and we design the rest of it deliberately. The Impact Conference runs in the daytime, with keynotes and sessions built for working authors, and the evening puts you in a room with hundreds of them. The conversations that happen there tend to matter longer than the ceremony does. Authors leave with collaborators, introductions, and opportunities they did not arrive expecting.
Come for the night. Most authors tell us they stayed for the people.
No. Winners are selected before the gala, based on the book alone. Attending does not affect the outcome, and neither does any ticket, add-on, or purchase of any kind.
We recognize authors in more than forty countries and we know that travel to Los Angeles is not possible for everyone. If your name is read from the stage and you are not in the room, your award is sent to you.
That said, if you can be there, we would love to have you. It is a night worth being present for.
